As we get closer to the Festival, we wanted to keep you updated on the happenings and updates. Here is an update we sent to the Vendors last night.
We are up to 54% of our spaces registered, which is a fantastic start. Some really fun vendors have joined us from some of the other events that I have participated in, including an amazing community creating husband/wife team named Steam Crow (online at http://steamcrow.com/). Just visit their website and you’ll see why we are so excited. That being said, we will start pushing to fill the remaining spots, well, tomorrow, so if you know someone that has been on the fence about participating, you may want to encourage them to get the job done.
We are VERY excited at the response from the writer community- Thank You for choosing this event.
Partnership: Society of Children’s Book Writer’s and Illustrators
For those of you that are unaware of how the holidays happen DT Mesa, in recent years the city and supporting organizations have worked together to create “Merry Main Street” (online at http://merrymainst.com/) a series of events and attractions designed to bring the community downtown during the holidays (which, clearly, we are tapping into the momentum of). One of those attractions is Mesa’s Christmas Tree, a four story tree.
We have partnered with SCBWI (Online at https://arizona.scbwi.org/) to bring their award winning children’s authors to the tree through the day to read to the children. We’ll be announcing that lineup soon, but we do know one special guest that will be making an appearance:
Mesa Mayor John Giles
The Mayor of Mesa, John Giles, will be kicking the children’s reading at the tree at 2pm, followed by a tour of the Festival. Look for that release to go out on Monday, as well as the website to be updated. We think there may be a couple more fun names to announce as well, but we will need to confirm their attendance first.
Attendee Bag Inserts
That’s it so far. We just need to keep spreading the word about this great upcoming event and building the anticipation.
I will send another update in the next couple weeks, when we have finalized some additional details.
Go Team Books!
